Dear Advisory Committee Representative,
[This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group Chairs]

W3C is pleased to announce the re-charter of the Internationalization
Working Group and the Internationalization Interest Group:

https://www.w3.org/International/groups/wg/charter.html
https://www.w3.org/International/groups/ig/charter.html

The groups are chartered through 16 October 2027.

The W3C Internationalization (i18n) Activity works with W3C working
groups and liaises with other organizations to make it possible to use
Web technologies with different languages, scripts, and cultures.

Please use the following form to have your organization join the Working
Group. The form will also instruct you how to nominate participants:
https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/i18n-core/join/

Individuals can join the Interest Group by subscribing to the mailing
list at:
https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-international/

There is no impact on existing participants in the Working Group and the
Interest Group.

Please consider diversity when proposing people to participate in W3C
groups. Representation from a wider group of people, especially people
from under-represented groups, is vital for creating web standards that
meet the needs of the wider web community.

The Working Group chair is Addison Phillips (W3C Invited Expert). The
Interest Group chair is Martin Dürst (W3C Invited Expert).

The Team Contacts for the Working Group are Fuqiao Xue <xfq@w3.org>,
Richard Ishida <ishida@w3.org>, Atsushi Shimono <atsushi@w3.org> and
Bert Bos <bert@w3.org>, for a total of 1.7 FTE. The Team Contacts for
the Interest Group are Richard Ishida and Fuqiao Xue for 0.05 FTE.

More information about the groups can be found on the group home pages:
