Folks, but especially Aharon and Mati, In August I started updating the main tutorial and article we have about bidi in HTML to include the recent additions to HTML5. I also pulled the details out of the current tutorial into articles (as for language and encoding resources before). I have some early drafts here, and would appreciate any comments (especially, of course, on the section called "Handling content whose direction is not known in advance" at http://www.w3.org/International/tutorials/new-bidi-xhtml/qa-html-dir#blockelements3) Here are the documents: Creating HTML Pages in Arabic, Hebrew and Other Right-to-left Scripts (tutorial format) http://www.w3.org/International/tutorials/new-bidi-xhtml/Overview.en.php Visual vs. logical ordering of text http://www.w3.org/International/tutorials/new-bidi-xhtml/qa-visual-vs-logical.en.php Text direction and structural markup in HTML http://www.w3.org/International/tutorials/new-bidi-xhtml/qa-html-dir.php What you need to know about the bidi algorithm and inline markup http://www.w3.org/International/tutorials/new-bidi-xhtml/Overview-inline.en.php Thanks, RI -- Richard Ishida Internationalization Activity Lead W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) http://www.w3.org/International/ http://rishida.net/ Register for the W3C MultilingualWeb Workshop!
