So it's not wrong to use span > if you prefer, just different. Given that HTML5 defines <b> and <i> as semantic tags rather than as presentational tags, I'd say in the cases where those semantics are appropriate, they are the more appropriate set of tags to use. So no, <span> is not wrong, but perhaps not the best choice. ~fantasai
