Hello, In CSS WG (= www-style@), we are discussing to make Japanese translation of Writing Modes spec[1]. I launched the translation project and try to make it public as much as possible. The project detail is described in [2] both in Japanese/English. I heard that there are lots of members in this ML who contibuted for JLreq. Our team has EPUB3 viewer implementors (which layouting engine is based on blink modified by him) and a professional translator/reviewer. So I believe we understand the spec well and the translation process might be better. But, we fear to miss/lack appropriate terminology in Japanese since we don't have so much experience regarding publishing/layouting in Japan. So, if you have interest in making a translation version, please contact me freely! (Of course the mail can be written in Japanese!) Please please help us. The spec editor is also interested in this project, and she said she would draw new pics for better understanding if she has time. I'd like to make a good translation.
