The CSS WG has published a Candidate Recommendation of the CSS Writing Modes Module Level 3: http://www.w3.org/TR/css-writing-modes-3/ CSS Writing Modes Level 3 defines CSS handling of various international writing modes, such as left-to-right (e.g. Latin or Indic), right-to-left (e.g. Hebrew or Arabic), bidirectional (e.g. mixed Latin and Arabic) and vertical (e.g. Asian scripts). Changes since the Last Call Working Draft include various editorial clarifications and renaming 'text-combine-horizontal' to 'text-combine-upright'. A Disposition of Comments is available at: http://dev.w3.org/csswg/css-writing-modes-3/issues-lc-2013 See also http://www.w3.org/TR/2014/CR-css-writing-modes-3-20140320/#changes Please send any comments to the www-style mailing list, <www-style@w3.org>, and please, prefix the subject line with [css-writing-modes-3] (as I did on this message). For the CSS WG, ~fantasai
