About X, the number of characters to scan for first-strong or any-RTL 
algorithm: like everybody, I am only guessing, but I am quite convinced 
that the proportion of Arabic/Hebrew documents including at least one LTR 
letter is much higher than the proportion of LTR documents including at 
least one RTL letter.  That means for me that an RTL letter is significant 
even if it is not so close to the beginning of the text.
Consequently, I tend to favor a larger X, let's say 255.
