Note that the opposite of this issue also holds, where Arabic speakers are not used to Nastaliq font, which is sometimes used erroneously by improper fontconfig on Linux. See [Font config Gitlab issue](https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/fontconfig/fontconfig/-/issues/173). [Redhat pushed the fixed fontconfig](https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2283903), but other distros may face this issue like [Arch Linux issue](https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/noto-fonts/-/issues/3). The fontconfig fix is listed on the [Arch Wiki](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Font_configuration/Examples#Excluding_Arabic_script_from_other_languages) CCing @tonijarjour -- GitHub Notification of comment by avidseeker Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/alreq/issues/276#issuecomment-2241823566 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
