<i class="meta">This issue applies to Chinese and Japanese.</i>

Emphasis dots should be centre-aligned with the text after the letter spacing is increased.

Example in Chinese:

<img width="620" alt="emphasis" src="https://github.com/w3c/clreq/assets/2863444/8789aa1f-de02-44a7-b5b8-12676dc71650">

<b class="subhead">Tests & results:</b>
Interactive test [Emphasis dots should be centre-aligned with the text after the letter spacing is increased](https://github.com/w3c/character_phrase_tests/issues/53)

The dots are centre-aligned with the characters in <span class="success">Gecko</span> and <span class="success">WebKit</span>, but not in <span class="fail">Blink</span>.

[Blink](https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1281289)

<b class="subhead">Priority:</b>
Given that increased inter-character spacing and emphasis dots appearing at the same time is not common, this is prioritised as an advanced issue.
