Re: On finding a Chair for the Human Centric AI Community Group

Hi Ian & group colleagues,

Whilst i welcome group nominees and a consequential vote for this important
role,

I just added myself as chair again at least for the interim...

Can you also let me know about the teleconf details?  It would be good to
try to set up what would be the first community call...  Although attempts
were made earlier...

I will try to get this done this week.  However, I think it is important to
note that I had hoped for more participation via
https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-humancentricai/ than has
occurred...

This combined with the lack of available budget earlier, has made progress
difficult.  per below, it may well be that the situation is about to
change, which if so, would be very much welcomed.

Nonetheless, it is still my view that the chair for this group; when
possible, should be elected by its members.

NB: ISOC UPDATE

As noted previously, I had thought that it would be beneficial to add
support for these initiatives via ISOC.

A proposal to establish an ISOC Human Centric AI SIG as been accepted by
ISOC and is now up for election (by ISOC members) which i hope will thereby
provide a means to discover additional resources, as required advance these
works both in relation to W3C activities, and in-turn also on a
complimentary basis also via ISOC. Should this be successful the group will
be given a small budget to use for webinars, content development, and
in-person events; and via the ISOC group can seek external funding or a
fiscal sponsor(s) and apply for ISOC Foundation Grants.

Which I think should help to support these works generally, including
outputs sought to be achieved via W3C...

IMO: In Solid like ecosystems (thought to be the best available 'backwards
compatibility' target); as to support human centric ai agents, there needs
to be a means to provide humanitarian supports; for people, who are
deplatformed, become homeless, refugees, etc.  this is one of the many
considerations, and it is hoped that the works via ISOC will in-turn help
to address those challenges, and in-turn act to support the works needed to
improve the outputs brought about via this Human Centric AI Group.
