Chair Election??

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone wants to put their hand-up to chair the CG???

I've noted previously, that I considered my role - from creating the
submission to create the group, getting it started - interim. IMO; chair
persons should be elected by the members of the group.

i think my motivations for starting the initiative have now been
illustrated, primarily safety protocols, interoperability and other stuff -
so that people building human centric ai systems, can do so, whilst knowing
that they're able to boot bad users off their network with cause, and those
persons still have somewhere to go - that platforms aren't judge, jury &
executioner (via ai, etc)...

IMO: whoever runs the group, should have a good working relationship with
the solid folk, if that is to be the underpinning 'safety protocol'
mechanism - as to ensure support for 'digital justice' systems,
in-effect... rule of law, online. but, others will have other ideas about
whether or not those sorts of use cases are important at all and/or how to
do it.

regardless,

there's various other important activities i think this group could get
stuck into; and, imo, seeing whether or not the group wants to elect a
chair - can't see a better time to ask, than now.

Let me know,

FWIW: I've set-up a github repo and humancentricai.xyz - without updating
the content, yet. I haven't gotten to it. but those humancentricai.xyz
pieces were obtained for the purposes of this, and perhaps other related
standards efforts groups - ie; perhaps an ISOC SIG, etc...

back, around may 2016, there was a document created for id2020
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GZIqlnkTzms3rIFKR18OR6VI-ksQqQGnkC5NKBgwyEw/edit#heading=h.e7nm32ax0m50

i made some alterations, continuing to pursue the 'human centric' (AI)
approach i had sought to achieve for many years.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GCFSwPPXjyZQukFhMzjGlfP-rSIFRO-nX4CTs6oWZD8/edit

that's one, of many constituencies of history - relating to a scope of
works, that's been epic, requiring great sacrifice, and yet to be fully
realised - whilst - i'm working on it...

Doing the right thing is hard... as yet, not successful, but that doesn't
mean that there isn't hope. Whether or not these 'human centric' works
lead to the availability of open-standards for reality check tech, access
to justice, support for human rights, rule of law...

depends on what is done.

if you're up for the challenge, to inscribe your role in history, please
feel welcome to put your hand-up, there's alot to do...

nb also, any suggestions about the best way to support a vote, let me know
also.

Timothy Holborn.
