RE: Planning to close Semantic HTML-vocabulary Community Group due to inactivity unless we hear from you

Hi there,

Yes, the group is still active.

Here are the answers for your questions.

* Is your group publishing any Specifications?

Yes we have already, the latest version was published on the 17th of November 2025, see:

https://floresbakker.github.io/htmlvoc/

* What is the group's expectation about future standardization of
those Specifications at W3C or at some other standards body?

Discussions with W3C have taken place in the past; we showed that we have multiple successful implementations of our proposed standard, including the use case of generated budget documents at the Dutch Ministry of Finance and OntoReSpec (see https://github.com/floresbakker/OntoReSpec), RDF-based open source tooling to generate ReSpec specification documents for ontologies. In these instances the RDF-based HTML vocabulary is used. There are in the meantime new implementations that have not yet been shared though. Feedback from W3C entailed that we should look for broad adoption across the community. This message was forwarded in the latest community group meeting (dec 2024) where we asked our participants to apply the vocabulary in their own use cases. Unfortunately, in 2025 no meeting was scheduled to review the results due to my own work load as an enterprise architect at the Dutch ministry of Finance. This year we will pick up the meetings again. Goal is to establish broad adoption and move forward with the standardization track.

Any assistance of W3C in this is welcome.

With kind regards,

Flores Bakker
Chair of the community group

Onderwerp: Planning to close Semantic HTML-vocabulary Community Group due to inactivity unless we hear from you

Dear participants in the

   Semantic HTML-vocabulary Community Group
   https://www.w3.org/community/htmlvoc/

Your Community Group appears to have become inactive (per [1]).

If your group is in fact active, we ask that you respond to this email with answers to these two questions:

* Is your group publishing any Specifications?
* What is the group's expectation about future standardization of
those Specifications at W3C or at some other standards body?

We also recommend the following:

* Let us know where the activity is going on so that we can update our
  data and improve our tools.

* Update your group home page with news of your activities. Chairs
can use the group Wordpress instance of the group to post news; let
us know if you have any questions.

If you would like us to keep the group open because you expect it to become active in the near future or for other compelling reasons, just let us know.

If you would like to schedule a call to discuss the current status of your group, your plans, and any obstacles to success, or you simply have questions about the CG program, please let us know.

If would like us to close the group, or if we do not hear from you in the next 30 days, we will plan to close the group.

Thank you,

CG/BG System
