Objection to Microdata Candidate Recommendation

I agree with Manu Sporny's objection to the Microdata Candidate
Recommendation:

http://manu.sporny.org/category/rdfa/

OCLC added Schema.org markup to WorldCat in June 2012 using both
Microdata and RDFa 1.1 markup despite the redundancy.

At the time, it wasn't clear which would come out ahead. It is obvious
now that the forces have aligned behind RDFa and the redundancy is now
causing needless confusion in community discussions that should be
focusing on vocabulary instead.

Please don't use the existence of Microdata in WorldCat as evidence of
its relevance to the future. It will be removed in the next release.
