Bug ID: 27789
Summary: Add "newaccount" content attribute to input element
(specifically for type=password)
Product: HTML.next
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: default
Assignee: dave.null@w3.org
Reporter: mhoye@mozilla.com
QA Contact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org

On the theory that strong password generation belongs in the browser, I propose
that site creators be able to flag account-creation input fields, including
passwords, explicitly, to improve tool-assisted security.
So, that the input element (4.10.5) include a new content attribute called
"newaccount", and that this be made applicable to type=password input fields
(4.10.5.1.6)
Thanks.
(@mozilla account, I know, but I'm not part of any relevant working groups and
filing this as an individual.)
