Bug ID: 21401
Summary: Inline images section should recommend use of unicode
characters as an alternative to inline images
Classification: Unclassified
Product: HTML WG
Version: unspecified
Hardware: PC
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: CR alt techniques (editor: Steven Faulkner)
Assignee: faulkner.steve@gmail.com
Reporter: jcraig@apple.com
QA Contact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
Inline images section should recommend use of unicode characters as an
alternative to inline images. Modern browsers have support for characters like
"♥" and "☺", and even support the use of custom fonts to render those as
colored image fonts, or an author can use image replacement techniques.
