[Bug 22438] Alt text for an image to a home page of a web site

The text before the example says "In this example, a link contains a logo. The
link points to the W3C web site. The text alternative is a brief description of
the link target."

Which provides an indication that the logo is not on the W3c site, therefore I
agree it is appropriate and withdraw the bug...  if any change is made, a short
addition such as this might help.
