Very close and I can see using that is several places, thank you for pointing
it out.  But what I was looking for was a break with no other notation (no
hyphen)  In my previous example

"something/&shy;anotherthing" would render as 

something/-
anotherthing

what I am looking for is 

something/
anotherthing
