https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=16547

Summary: Is there a use case for explicitly releasing keys?
           Product: HTML WG
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: Encrypted Media Extensions
        AssignedTo: adrianba@microsoft.com
        ReportedBy: ddorwin@google.com
         QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
                CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org,
                    public-html@w3.org

>From v0.1:
The current proposal does not support a mechanism to release keys. It is
expected that the User Agent and CDM will release keys that are no longer
needed as necessary to free resources. No use case for triggering this release
from JavaScript has been identified.
