http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13878 Summary: spellcheck default state poorly defined Product: HTML WG Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: HTML5 spec (editor: Ian Hickson) AssignedTo: ian@hixie.ch ReportedBy: glenn@skynav.com QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org, public-html@w3.org The current text in 7.6 states "The default state indicates that the element is to act according to a default behavior, possibly based on the parent element's own spellcheck state." This text refers to "a default behavior". Exactly which default behavior is that? If it is intended to be UA implementation dependent, then it should state that. However, that leaves things rather ambiguous. I would suggest coupling the default state to an explicit value, e.g., 'false', or something more specific that is currently specified "possibly based on the parent element's own spellcheck state". The absence of a better definition of default state reduces testability and interoperability. -- Configure bugmail: http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug.
