Note: currently you MUST NOT add a text alternative to images that may set the
mood or convey meaning to the overall context in HTML5
(http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/embedded-content-1.html#a-purely-decorative-image-that-doesn-t-add-any-information)

Has been raised as an issue by ian and is the subject of a call for change
proposals
