http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10803 Summary: Ignore document.written charset metas Product: HTML WG Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: HTML5 spec (editor: Ian Hickson) AssignedTo: ian@hixie.ch ReportedBy: hsivonen@iki.fi QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org, public-html@w3.org Gecko doesn't reload the page with a different charset if a charset meta has been document.written. This is done to comply with compatibility lore. A charset meta is considered to have been document.written if the character that caused the token to be emitted (i.e. the '>' character that ends the tag) came from a document.write argument. I'm filing this without testing what happens in other browsers and without providing bugzilla/cvs archeology information about the rationale of the lore, because I want to get this on file before the deadline. -- Configure bugmail: http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug.
