I support this CFC. JF From: Paul Cotton [mailto:Paul.Cotton@microsoft.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 21, 2014 11:40 AM To: public-html-admin@w3.org Subject: CfC: to maintain "Image Description Extension (longdesc)" Working Draft on the Recommendation track This is a Call for Consensus (CfC) to maintain the "Image Description Extension (longdesc)" Working Draft on the Recommendation track. The most recent publication of this specification can be found at: http://www.w3.org/TR/html-longdesc/ The HTML WG "plan 2014" [1] encouraged the creation of extension specifications. In some cases these extension specifications have been folded back into one of the current W3C HTML5 specifications. In this case the recommendation is to take the "Image Description Extension (longdesc)" Working Draft all the way to W3C Recommendation and to keep it separate from the underlying HTML5 specification. This recommendations comes to the HTML WG and PF WG from the Accessibility Task Force whose decision on this matter is recorded here: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-a11y/2014Jan/0049.html Silence will be taken to mean there is no objection, but positive responses are encouraged. If there are no objections by Tuesday January 28, this resolution will carry. /paulc HTML WG co-chair [1] http://dev.w3.org/html5/decision-policy/html5-2014-plan.html Paul Cotton, Microsoft Canada 17 Eleanor Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K2E 6A3 Tel: (425) 705-9596 Fax: (425) 936-7329
