Subject: Please take a moment to rejoin the HTML Working Group

Hello all,

Today we sent a Call for Participation to the Membership to invite people to rejoin the HTML Working Group. When a charter includes new deliverables, we ask people to rejoin the group to confirm their commitments under the W3C Patent Policy. After 45 days, if they have not rejoined, we remove them from the group automatically for administrative purposes, although people may rejoin at any time.

Rejoin here:
 http://www.w3.org/2004/01/pp-impl/40318/join

The HTML WG face-to-face meeting at TPAC starts 45 days from now. Our system may remove people automatically, but given that people will be traveling to the meeting, I think the Chairs should allow participation at TPAC even by those who have not yet rejoined.

Having said that: please take a moment to rejoin at your earliest convenient.

I've pasted below a copy of the email sent to the Membership today. Let me know if you have any questions,

Ian Jacobs, Head of W3C Communications

SENT TO MEMBERSHIP TODAY

Dear Advisory Committee representative,

This is a Call for Participation in the HTML Working Group, part of the HTML Activity.

If your organization wishes to join this group, please first review the group's charter:
   https://www.w3.org/2013/09/html-charter

and homepage:
   http://www.w3.org/html/wg/

Then use the following form to join the group; the form will also instruct you how to nominate participants:
   https://www.w3.org/2004/01/pp-impl/40318/join

The charter of this Working Group includes a new deliverable (DOM4) that requires W3C Patent Policy licensing commitments from all Participants. Consequently, all Participants must join or re-join the group, which involves agreeing to participate under the terms of the revised charter and the W3C Patent Policy. Current Participants may continue to attend meetings (teleconferences and face-to-face meetings) for 45 days after this announcement, even if they have not yet re-joined the group. After 45 days, ongoing participation (including meeting attendance and voting) is only permitted for those who have re-joined the group.

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact the Chairs, Paul Cotton <Paul.Cotton@microsoft.com>, Sam Ruby <rubys@intertwingly.net>, and Maciej Stachowiak <mjs@apple.com> or the Team Contact, Mike Smith <mike@w3.org>.

This Call for Participation follows section 6.2.4 of the W3C Process Document:
 http://www.w3.org/2005/10/Process-20051014/groups#cfp
