            Bug ID: 21412
Summary: Extensibility of @role should be better defined
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: HTML WG
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: PC
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: HTML5 spec
          Assignee: robin@w3.org
          Reporter: robin@w3.org
        QA Contact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
                CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-admin@w3.org,
                    public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org

The use case is adding values that match new needs, such as those found in
epub.

The ARIA role attribute document has a variety of indications about CURIEs and
XHTML, but these are hardly applicable.

A clearer description of the extensibility would help.
