Suggest the ALT be something like:
alt="Average rainfall in millimetres by Country and Season. Full description in
table below."


Also, we use British spelling here in Canada also, but I believe the W3C has
adopted American spelling "millimeters", but its an example so maybe it doesn't
matter...
