I have an action from our Media Subteam to propose edits to Sec. 4.8 of the MAUR entitled: "Requirements on the parallel use of alternate content on potentially multiple devices in parallel" My six suggested edits are as follows ... 1.) Suggested new title: Requirements on the Use of Secondary Devices 2.) Suggest leaving the third sentence in place, while replacing the first two sentences in the description paragraph with the following: "Multiple secondary user devices must be directly addressable. This functionality is increasingly also known by the new term, "Second Screen," even though there may be more than two screens in any given viewing environment, and even though not all secondary devices are video displays. It must be assumed that many users will have at least one additional display device (such as a tablet), and/or at least one additional audio out put device (such as a Bluetooth headset) attached to a primary video display device, an individual computer, or locally addressable via LAN." 3.) Remove the paragraph referencing UAWG. 4.) Replace the sentence which now reads: "Systems supporting multiple devices for accessibility must:" with "Systems supporting secondary devices must:" 5.) Consider replacing the MD designator with SS or SD 6.) Replace references to UAAG 2 with hrefs, once they're known to be persistent. Comments welcome.
