Two discussion topics from yesterday's FSF that Paul and I felt were worth specifically drawing to the attention of the A11y TF: First, there appears to be widespread support for adopting a webapps "WorkMode" like model for the working group. Based on this feedback, the chairs are inclined to move quickly on this item. See forwarded message below as well as the meeting minutes for this item: http://www.w3.org/2014/04/08-html-wg-minutes.html#item06 Second, there is talk of moving from the current plan of a two year cycle for releases of the HTML spec to a one year cycle. See the meeting minutes for this item: http://www.w3.org/2014/04/08-html-wg-minutes.html#item08 - Sam Ruby -------- Original Message -------- Subject: HTML/wg/WorkMode Resent-Date: Fri, 04 Apr 2014 01:36:30 +0000 Resent-From: public-html-admin@w3.org Date: Thu, 03 Apr 2014 21:36:00 -0400 From: Sam Ruby <rubys@intertwingly.net> To: public-html-admin@w3.org <public-html-admin@w3.org> The HTML WG chairs undertook a review of the Decision Policy[1] with the intent of identifying which portions needed updating, and which were no longer necessary. The outcome of this effort turned out to be an entirely new document based on the WebApps WorkMode[2] wiki page: https://www.w3.org/wiki/HTML/wg/WorkMode While this is only a draft at this point, the chairs feel that this effort has the promise of more accurately describes how the Working Group is -- and should be -- operating. We welcome feedback on this list, and plan to discuss this at the F2F next week. As stated on the wiki page: members of the WG are encouraged to edit (e.g. to update, correct, etc.) the information in this document. - Sam Ruby [1] http://dev.w3.org/html5/decision-policy/decision-policy.html [2] http://www.w3.org/2008/webapps/wiki/WorkMode
