Dear HTML5 A11y TF,

Thank you for your request on Image alternative advice.[1]

It is important that your advice meets SC 1.1.1 and SC 2.4.4. It appears
all the versions you are considering do so. The WCAG WG does not wish to
constrain your best practices development as long as it continues to
satisfy the relevant SC. The document should clarify however that
patterns other than its best practices can also meet WCAG.
