Dear list managers, readers and all interested in longdesc,
By coincidence I found this draft and address and it got my interest immediately since any improvement to current standards is of course more than welcome.
In this case adding a proper description to an image should be obligatory e.g. the visually challenged. If it's done in a standard way this helps not only them, but everyone
who takes time to watch images on a page in the World Wide Web. If you haven't done so yet, please consult organizations for and of the blind.
I happen to know one who is deeply involved and has a lot insight (pun intended!) though he is legally unable to see as most of us do.
His site: http://blindict.nl/english/index.php#tab2
He used to be a co-worker, highly respected
He does not know this so please pretend you found the English version of his site via an "ordinary" search or so ;-)
