May be you should ask those in the A11Y TF that disagree with you, about whether what I outlined could be something they could consent to? I could be wrong, but I think we will be the most successfull w.r.t. @longdesc for <img> if we use energy on ensuring that @longdesc for IMG and @aria-describedAT can harmonically co-exist. See the things I mentioned in the first letter with suggestions for the describedAT draft in that regard. Also, if one thinks that @aria-describedAT and @longdesc can co-exist, then one must accept that @aria-describedAT - and not @longdesc - is chosen in many cases. -- Leif H Silli
