Re: ISSUE-204: aria-hidden - Chairs Solicit Proposals (was: Chair review of "Keep Longdesc Deprecated")

Hi all,

FYI
rules for elements with host language semantics for hidden
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/wai-xtech/2012Mar/0072.html

My understanding of the clarifications to the ARIA implemantion guide[1]
are:

* Any element that is directly hidden visually through the use of things
like CSS display:none an visibility:hidden must not be exposed to the
platform accessibility API
* This would include the HTML5 hidden attribute as the implementations use
CSS display:none
* Anything that is defined as hidden through aria-hidden SHOULD NOT be
exposed.
* Relationship attributes (e.g. aria-describedby) can reference hidden
elements, the hidden elements text content will be exposed, but the
elements will not be represented in the accessibility tree.
