<janina> Meeting: HTML-A11Y Task Force Teleconference

   <janina> Scribe: Steve_Faulkner

<Judy> summary: general discussion, including updates on the following:

   <Judy> scribe: judy

   <scribe> chair: janina

   <paulc> http://dev.w3.org/html5/status/issue-status.html#ISSUE-204

   - on issue 204 (aria hidden), cynthia is taking in a few addition comments from list discussion and other CP's; paul
notes that the html co-chair review of this will start within 24 hours, and encourages rapid stabilization; john will
likely be withdrawing his in deference to Laura's..

   <janina> Cynthia's (and PF's) is:

   <janina> http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/Correct_Hidden_Attribute_Section_v2

paul: the co-chairs were expecting to review laura's

<janina> Laura's CP, also based on John's, is at:

   <janina> http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/ChangeProposals/CorrectHidden#UAIG

janina: cynthia is representing the aria tf on their proposal, which was what the tf expected

paul: we hadn't received an announcement of cynthia's cp

   <janina> http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html/2012Apr/0162.html

janina: i announced this yesterday evening

paul: janina this is exactly right, sorry for missing it.

judy: encourages further convergence of CP's on this today, on behalf of a clear TF position

general discussion on how to pursue more convergence on 204....

janina: requests more background on media issue

paul: relates to adaptive streaming, may be another survey forthcoming

   janina: thx for update

judy: good opportunity to state the accessibility issues

cynthia: long history of accessibility issues with DRM; ways to solve it, but needs consideration; the specific issue
is screen reader blockage. public domain ebooks have better addressed this.

janina: worked w/ Library of Congress on security issues on accessibility and DRM

paul: the survey is about creating a TF, and you should get info together on that and put it onto the html wg list

cynthia: accessibility media group should send use cases

   <janina> scribe: janina

cyns: I will add info re title to my I204 CP
... Also, I'll add an explanation of why A11Y APIs flatten ml to text strings
... And, I'll add an explanation that this flattening happens whether or not content is hidden--that hidden has nothing
   to do with the flattening.

janina: I'll make sure Rich knows about the HTML Chair review of I199, and ask whether an opportunity to incorporate
   Ted O'connor's CP concerns
... Also, we need to look at the I194 (text transcript on media elements) review
