Hi John and all, In the initial decision the Chairs said, "alternatives exists (explicit links, aria-describedby, figure captions)". Currently none of the proposed solutions alternatives are functional replacements [1] for longdesc. Paul, Sam, and Maciej, if ARIA provides a functional replacement will not the Chairs then kill off longdesc? Some would be happy to sacrifice longdesc in exchange for ARIA promotion/incorporation. longdesc has been a PF bargaining chip from the start [2]. > I think you are reading more into this than there is.
