Hello Everyone, Since the last report we have had: 1 WONTFIX bug. Details are in section 1. 3 NEEDSINFO bugs. Details are in section 2. 1 REOPENED bug. Details are in section 3. 1 DUPLICATE bug. Details are in section 4. 2 NEW a11y bugs reported. Details are in section 5. The bug team cleaned up the backlog of bugs awaiting "a11ytf" keyword decisions last week so these two new bugs are all that need to be decided. A new Accessibility Task Force Resolved Bug Comparison is at: http://www.d.umn.edu/~lcarlson/html5bugchart/20110129/ The Accessibility Change Proposal Status Table which includes upcoming deadlines is at: http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/wiki/Accessibility_Change_Proposal_Status Further details are as follows. 1. WONTFIX BUGS: 1.1 Pre-Last Call Bug 9428: "Permit <object> to be used without the data or type attribute present" reported by Leif Halvard Silli. Sam added the TrackerRequest keyword to this bug. http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_activity.cgi?id=9428 2. NEEDSINFO BUGS: 2.1 Pre-Last Call Bug 9326: "HTML elements mapping to ARIA and A11y APIs" reported by Cynthia Shelly. Sam added the TrackerRequest keyword to this bug. http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_activity.cgi?id=9326 2.2 Pre-Last Call Bug 9657: "Content model of object" reported by Leif Halvard Silli. Sam added the TrackerRequest keyword to this bug. http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_activity.cgi?id=9657 2.3 Last Call 11342: "The TextMetrics baseline must provide a baseline property" reported by Rich Schwerdtfeger. Ian's comment: "Which baseline? And why do you need this through the metrics mechanism rather than the rendering mechanism (where it is already available)? If you could provide a simple page with a canvas script showing the problem that would be ideal." Change Description: "no spec change". http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=11342 3. REOPENED BUGS: 3.1 Pre-LC1 Bug 9326: "HTML elements mapping to ARIA and A11y APIs" reported by Leif Halvard Silli. Reopened by Leif. http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10518 4. DUPLICATE BUGS: 4.1 Last Call Bug 11798: "It has been brought to my attention by some browser vendors that browsers don't actually implement accessibility API annotations exactly the way the ARIA spec says to; instead, they have default mappings from HTML directly to the accessibility APIs that they use unless an explicit role="" has been given. So it might make sense to change this section so that it is nothing but conformance criteria for authors, removing the UA conformance criteria relating to ARIA and platform AAPIs from the HTML spec altogether." reported by contributor@whatwg.org Michael Cooper marked this bug as a duplicate of bug 10066. http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=11798#c9 5. NEW BUGS: 5.1 Last Call Bug 11892: "Explicitly state that ARIA states and properties are formal/normative HTML attributes" reported by Michael(tm) Smith. http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=11892 5.2 Last Call Bug 11893: "Define lexical processing rules for ARIA attributes" reported by Michael(tm) Smith. http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=11893 6.
