Re: Status on reopening longdesc Issue 30 (was Re: longdesc use cases)

I would like task force input before it is submitted to the Working Group.

That would be great.

Primary Use Case Overview is informally written at:
http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/ChangeProposals/InstateLongdesc#Primary_Use_Case_Overview

Other informal Use Cases are at:
http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/ChangeProposals/InstateLongdesc#Other_Use_Cases

But the proper and formal, specific use cases are at:
http://www.d.umn.edu/~lcarlson/research/ld.html#uc
All of these are from an author's perspective. It would be good to
have some formal use cases from blind users perspectives.
The use case key for the formal use cases is at:
http://www.d.umn.edu/~lcarlson/research/usecasekey.html

How do you suggest the use cases be clarified?

I added a section on aria-describedby at:
http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/ChangeProposals/InstateLongdesc#aria-describedby_is_not_a_Functional_Replacement_for_longdesc

Does that help?

If you write a section for figure I will insert it into the Wiki page.

Let me know what else can be improved.

Thanks.

Best Regards,
Laura.
