Since we don't have a compiled set of requirements yet, I gathered the different requirements links related to accessible media that I'm aware of, and some questions. Please add to the list of links of requirement sets if there are others, and/or to the list of questions -- thanks. http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/wiki/Multimedia_Q%26A - this page has only about 8 lines of basic need statements, then the rest is info about other things for instance accommodation types, provision, detection, formats https://wiki.mozilla.org/Accessibility/Video_a11y_requirements - after some narrative thoughts about requirements, from mid-page & on there's a list w/ linked details on some disability-related functional needs, as well as requirements for internationalization, entertainment, archiving etc http://wiki.whatwg.org/wiki/Timed_tracks - requirements specifically for timed-track features in HTML http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/MultimediaAccessibility - nothing there A few starter questions regarding requirements (borrowing from various contexts, including some recent contributions) - Most of these requirements documents seem to consider that someone might have difficulty seeing, or hearing, but not both. (Disabilities don't always get handed out one at a time.) Can someone help capture requirements for deaf-blind users -- a term which at least in some countries encompasses users any combination of some to full vision impairment and some to full hearing impairment, in other words a wide range of user requirements? This has implications for instance on the requirements for the presentation of captions. - Any captures of accessibility requirements for people with cognitive disabilities, for instance who might need to see and hear text at the same time? - Requirements for preserving and carrying through captions and audio description from one format to another? - What about requirements for controls of captions & audio description (start, stop, fast fwd, rewind, etc) - What about requirements for structured nav of longer chunks of video? - Other questions regarding aspects not already captured requirements documentation (apart from features of any particular approach)?
