Hi all, I have rummaged through the email thread and created a summary on issue that we discussed that need change before we are able to move the spec at http://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/44061/text-associations/ upstream to the HTML WG: + clarify that an "enabled" attribute in the markup expresses the intention of the page author to have this track activated. The UA may overrule this intent where it has extra knowledge about user preferences, e.g. for selecting a more appropriate alternative out of a trackgroup. + update the selection algorithm for the trackgroup at http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/wiki/Media_TextAssociations#Resource_selection_algorithm to basically signify: For each track in a trackgroup - the UA can decide to set the enabled attribute based on 'lang' and/or 'media' attributes on track elements. - If there exists tracks with the enabled attribute: Select the first such track. Else: Do not use any of the tracks + more discussion and specification on the @media attribute will be necessary - we may remove it at this stage - I am still awaiting opinions + more discussion on the file formats is necessary - it seems it is not clear what requirements would necessitate more than just srt - I am planning on a separate discussion thread as soon as the format survey is closed. For now we will probably need to remove the section about file formats from the change request (http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/wiki/Media_TextAssociations#File_Formats) seeing all the disagreement. Best Regards, Silvia.
