Since we've been discussing user requirements--and what features may, or
may not be possible, on various platforms, I thought it important to
share the below with you.
Developers from the Association for the Blind of Western Australia are
developing a DAISY player for iPhone, iPad, and iPod to be available
from iTunes.
They will be demonstrating it during the annual convention of the
National Federation of the Blind (NFB) in Dallas next month.
So, it appears the functionality we talk about in Section 2.5, "Content
Navigation by Content Structure," and in Section 3.2, "Granularity Level
Control for Structural Navigation," is being realized on mainstream
devices even as we debate its viability.

The first release will handle only DAISY 2.02 and DAISY/NISO z3986 audio only and audio full text books. The next upgrade will support DAISY 2.02 and DAISY/NISO z3986 text only books such as those from bookshare.org
