The following consensus recommendation of the HTML A11Y Task Force (with objections ) is hereby referred to the HTML Working Group pursuant to the Task Force consensus procedures at: http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/consensus-procedures.html Recommendation: ISSUE-80 Title RESOLUTION: The HTML-A11Y Task Force does not accept @title as a substitute for @alt, in respect to document conformance. We do support the change proposal at http://www.w3.org/html/wg/wiki/ChangeProposals/ImgElement20091203. A summary rationale together with pointers to additional information considered by the Task Force in reaching this consensus can be found at: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-a11y/2010Apr/0130.html Final Vote: 22 voted "Yes" 1 voted "No" 96% of Task Force members voting on this resolution voted to support it.
