Note: at the moment (2010-04-01 at 19:30 UTC) it appears the train strike is not going to happen after all: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/2010/dispute.html However, I suggest you keep an eye on the above page as you plan your travel, if traveling by train to the meeting.
