Just for giggles: I got some hocus-pocus rough version of what I described above working(ish). ![Screen-Recording-2021-05-20-at-11 22 21-AM](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/75336035/119011752-58581300-b963-11eb-9a49-0b4af2de1559.gif) It's some real Mickey-Mouse code that would probably make you dumber if you read it, but FWIW with 86% of websites failing basic contrast standards it would be interesting to see some CSS WG pick up the challenge of adding a spec like `font-contrast-minimum: 4.5 5px` (where 5px is the radius for the dodge/burn). I know it's probably not easy, but it could really help people with low vision by making these adjustments an "easier sell" to designers. The only other options we have now (that I'm aware of, at least) are putting big blocks and indiscriminant text-shadows behind our text that damage brand/creative assets. I don't know if the Houdini spec could play a role in helping that out or whatever. It's really interesting, thanks again for all your hard work - can't wait to see what we can do with this: especially to help people with low vision. -- GitHub Notification of comment by bkimmelSQSP Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/css-houdini-drafts/issues/1042#issuecomment-845254975 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
