> #xmlbase3 > ========= > The current text makes the incorrect statement: > [[ > The base URI of the document is the target URI of the last > redirection step > ]] How is this an incorrect statement? The document is redirected from <http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/grddl-wg/td/xmlWithBase> to <http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/grddl-wg/td/base/xmlWithBase>, and we determined that this latter URI is therefore the base URI of the document as described in RFC 3986, section 5.1.3[0]. That said, I do think that the statement may be misleading. It was meant to highlight that even with redirection, the xml:base takes precedence. > I suggest the following change > Replace: > [[ > The base URI of the document is the target URI of the last > redirection > step; after establishing this fact, this test case follows the same > behavior as "An xml document with an xml:base attribute". > ]] > with: > [[ > The base URI of the document is established by the xml:base > on the root > element, as for "An xml document with an xml:base attribute". > ]] I would instead suggest the following replacement text: <text> The base URI for these relative references is established by the xml:base attribute on the root element, as for "An xml document with an xml:base attribute". </text> > base-detail > =========== > > The text is: > [[ > # A transform that does not respect xml:base: > input output > > The output of a transform is processed with the retrieval > IRI, not that > given by an xml:base. > ]] > This text is not consistent with the descriptions and > decisions of the > xmlbase and htmlbase tests. > > Since we have not approved this test, I suggest simply deleting it. > We may want to review our coverage of the base issues later. I agree. [0] http://gbiv.com/protocols/uri/rfc/rfc3986.html#base-retrieval Take care, John L. Clark Cleveland Clinic is ranked one of the top 3 hospitals in America by U.S.News & World Report.
