I think I had an action a while ago (which we implicitly withdrew by not carrying it forward) to give pointers to some educational metadata thingies. I was just reading about the sakai project... http://www.sakaiproject.org/index.php? option=com_content&task=view&id=103&Itemid=208 and it says "powered by mambo" which reminds me of Moodle... "Moodle is a course management system (CMS) - a free, Open Source software package designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities." http://moodle.org/ see also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moodle hmm... that links to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shibboleth auth, which, I gather, is in the same design space as SAML and OpenID; I hope to learn more about the similarities and differences... but that's another story. -- Dan Connolly, W3C http://www.w3.org/People/Connolly/
