Hi John & Dave (and others), leaving aside the data cubes schema for a while I want to draw your attention to an upcoming full day Linked Environment Data workshop 2012-08-30 in Germany. It will be part of the EnviroInfo conference http://www.enviroinfo2012.org/ The program has not been published, but among others we will have Anja Jentsch from LATC and Søren Roug from the EEA. It might be a good idea to think over how to set up a European scenario connecting your bathing water data and what we will have with data from the EEA. Have you already done anything in this direction? Would be great to meet you in Dessau, home of the Federal Environment Agency!
