@richtr The permission pop up seems the obvious choice for this. The apps listed above (like ours) are absolutely valid uses of the API, but it wouldn't be at all problematic to have a popup. We also use the camera, and its absolutely straight forward to ask for permission when we do. It seems the only case where it would be problem is if you are doing something where it is not clear to your user that you are using the accelerometer.
