I'd like to propose something to think on next time we address this - if we're going to open up <xf:label appearance="foo"> then it may be worth examining the effect of @appearance beyond {minimal|none} For instance, label@appearance="full" could be associated with a top-bound label: *Foo:* [_______________] * Bar: [_______________] * while label@appearance="compact" could be associated with an inline label: *Foo: *[_______________] ** *Bar: *[_______________] ** and label@appearance="minimal" could be associated with a default label: [*Foo:*___________] ** [*Bar:*___________] ** which would be replaced by the associated value when text is entered into the control or an item is selected. Not necessarily recommending these, just thinking that if we're going this route, we should articulate the @appearance use cases.
