Just want to quickly start a discussion thread to continue with the dialog element, which we discussed on today's telecon. I understand that it is useful to indicate that a dialog should be visible on form startup, in lieu of a show action that hooks xforms-ready. I also get that this is similar, if not analogous, to setting up a switch using the selected attributes of cases. But the name "visible" for the attribute is not very good. There's nothing in the attribute name to suggest it is interpreted on startup only. Granted we do have the same problem with the selected attributes, but we're actually planning to improve that in XForms 1.2, so past mistakes can't be used to justify future ones. Any better ideas for a name? Thanks, John M.
