Chairs Questionnaire for Group Meetings held at AC/TP 20-24 October  2008: 
Due 28 April 2008







Dear Group Chairs,

We have opened a WBS Questionnaire [1] for Chairs to inform us when
their groups would like to meet during W3C's Joint Technical Plenary and 
AC Meetings Week, 20-24 October 2008, to be held at the Sofitel Cannes 
Mandelieu Royal Casino, Mandelieu [2].  Please discuss with your groups 
and reply no later than ***28 April 2008***. We will post a tentative 
schedule by ***13 May 2008***, and plan to open registration for the 
October meeting by ***29 May 2008***.

Based on your feedback from TPAC2007, we are planning on a slight change 
to the schedule, that would avoid the need to meet on Saturday and allow 
the possibility of Group meetings that overlap with the AC Executive 
Session on Thursday. However, at this point, we would like to wait until 
we see your answers to this WBS before finalizing the schedule.

It is important that we start this process early and before the
summer season begins.  Many folks take several weeks of vacation over
the summer, and it is crucial that W3C informs the Sofitel that our 
estimated meeting space requirements and registration numbers are on 
track for October.

The Sofitel Cannes Mandelieu Royal Casino is pleased to be able to offer 
a guest room rate of 195 Euros for a single room and 225 Euros for a 
double room. These discounted room rates are available until ***8 
September 2008***. Due to the fact that we are using every bit of 
meeting space at the Sofitel for W3C's meetings, we are expected to fill 
a significant room quota over the week.  As with past meetings, we ask
that meeting attendees book a room at the meeting hotel: the Sofitel 
Cannes Mandelieu Royal Casino, Mandelieu, or we would be at risk of 
losing valuable meeting space.

Benefits we hope to encourage by co-locating the meetings include:
more AC reps attending the AC meeting, more AC reps attending or
observing group meetings and participating in the Technical Plenary
Day, all participants benefiting from an expanded level of
interaction, and that members with representatives who are Chairs or
are in Groups like the AB or the TAG, would be able to save time and
travel costs.

We look forward to receiving your replies!!  Questionnaires are due by 
***28 April 2008***.
