Re: Charter Proposal

aloha, maciej!

thanks for the quick and reassuring reply... with only 6 of us, telecons
should be relatively painless -- that is, when we can agree upon a
timeframe that works for all task force members... i'm in the U.S.
Eastern Time Zone (UTC -400), which is the same as boston time -- i am
amenable to meetings that fit the majority's timeframe, especially since
it seems that at least half of the task force is physically located in
europe, or at least UTC plus an hour or few -- it would be a good first
step to "synchronize our watches" so that we can clear time for
teleconferences...

this is another case where having a wiki would be advantageous -- we
could all at least note our time zones to facillitate telecon and IRC
interaction...

i don't know who precisely -- other than the 6 task force members -- is
subscribed to this list, or monitors its activity, but i suppose we ought
to contact Dan Connolly, Chris Wilson, Jon Boyer, Karl Dubost, Chris
Lilley, and possibly Steven Pemberton to align resources for the task
force, or at least receive direction as to how to do so ourselves
(requesting telephone bridge access, ensuring access to the Forms wiki,
etc.)

it might also be advantageous to assign some time between sporadic
telecons to hold IRC "office hours" in a join-ftf channel on the W3C IRC
server so that ideas can be exchanged, making teleconference time more
focused and proposals more polished...

if this exchange doesn't spark a response from above, we can make a formal
request of the chairs of the 2 working groups and their staff contacts;
should we assign a deadline for such a request? DanC indicated during the
last HTML WG telecon that he was prepared to take whatever steps are
necessary to get us working on our assigned task, and i am sure that DanC
monitors this list, as does, i believe, does ChrisL... we should, i
suppose, as a matter of process, request access to a staff contact person
who can reserve telephone bridge time, enable access to the Forms wiki,
and attend to other issues that need staff or chair-level access to the
complete W3C toolkit...

it might also be a good idea to ping sebastian directly to ascertain if
he still has the available cycles to devote to the task force -- anne,
perhaps you could re-send your proposal to him directly?

i am very much "looking" forward to working with each and every one of
you, and glad that our work is finally underway,

gregory.
