RE: I have interest in this CG

Hi,

InterSCity does not have a specific page about e-commerce, only after I finish my work piece (by the end of 2021) it will be available at https://interscity.org/publications/. It will only become an official research theme<https://interscity.org/research_themes/> if there is a need for founding in the future.

Also I'm still studying about the issue and picking exactly what my contribution will be but I'm planning to propose a federated decentralised marketplace protocol to help markets more easily discoverable without needing to be part of a central database (like Amazon or Airbnb) - with the main goal of attending the food delivery market.

Do you know of any similar projects that I may contribute for instead of starting something new? I've been searching but did not find anything along those lines yet, only your CG.

Thank you,
Luana

Hi Luana,

An overdue update for everyone perhaps: yes, this is active and I intend to schedule some conversations in the near future.

The past few months have seen an increase in effort as my own related projects all come to a milestone, and I want to ensure the meetings create a sustainable momentum.

Michiel summarized my own thoughts perfectly, but I’d be welcome to other ideas too on what they want to see from this group.

E-commerce, for example, is ripe for improvements in interoperability and standardization with so many very different platforms. I would like to remove the complexity in building the tooling and connections between projects.

Cool! I see https://interscity.org/about/ is about a variety of topics related to smart cities. I didn't find the one specifically about e-commerce, is there a specific page about that? Or a page about it at your university's website?

I can't speak for the other CG members, but I myself work on https://ledgerloops.com and https://webmonetization.org, and my hope for federated commerce is that we can coordinate trade between buyers and sellers in a more peer-to-peer way than how most trade currently occurs, i.e. settled against anonymized currencies, which are backed by centralized credit rating agencies and ultimately national armies).

A while ago, I wrote a blog post about network ledger technology that my interest you:

Hello!

My name is Luana and I’m studying federated decentralised e-commerces as part of a project in my university, and I found your CG. I would like to know more about it: is this group currently active? And what exactly are you planning to develop as result of this initiative? Depending on the answers I can fit some contributions as part of my project or maybe utilize some of your work.

In case you want to know about my project: https://interscity.org/about/

Thanks,
Luana Nascimento.
