Proposal for an XDM tree builder library

I've increasingly found a need for functions that construct XDM nodes, and there's a basic set of such functions in Saxon 10.

I've put together a proposal for a set of 7 functions at https://www.saxonica.com/~mike/builder.html. Very much a first cut. The use cases are explained in §2.3.

Please ccomment on whether (a) you think such a standard library would be a good idea, and (b) whether the general approach looks right.

I'm not quite sure what list this should be posted on, hope this reaches the right people.
